"I will give you one chance to earn back your honor and your life," she said to him. "You raised this younger twin to be a chef, no? Well, let us see his worth now. I will summon the finest chefs from every country, and if he can defeat each of them in a culinary battle, your crimes shall be forgiven."
Curiously, the younger twin had decided to wear a mask made of iron. When asked why, he would respond, "I cannot wear the same face as my brother any longer," and wouldn't say another word on the matter. He became known simply as 'Iron Mask'.
Well, the younger son's cuisine was truly magnificent! Over the course of a year, chef after chef came foreign lands to do battle with him in the kitchen, but he defeated each one.
Finally, the Empress announced that there would be only one more battle -- with a chef from that very country!
